Nijo Narinobu (二条斉信)

Narinobu NIJO (April 10, 1788 - June 9, 1847) was kugyo (high court noble) in the late Edo period. His father was Harutaka NIJO. His mother was a daughter of Munemoto TOKUGAWA. He had children including Nariyuki NIJO and Hiroko (wife of Prince Arisugawa Takahito). His alias was Seitokuin. His wife was Yoriko (従子) (daughter of Harutoshi TOKUGAWA).

Brief Personal History

He was born to Harutaka NIJO in Kyoto in 1788. He was appointed to Juichii (Junior First Rank) on May 7, 1824 (old calendar). He held various posts as Naidaijin (Minister of the Center) (1815 - 1820), Udaijin (Minister of the Right) (1820 - 1824) and Sadaijin (Minister of the Left) (1824 - 1847). He died in 1847.
